General Rules & Standards

These rules apply to everyone who applies to join the Ola & Vick network — regardless of which track you are applying for. Please read them fully before sending your application. Applications that do not meet these standards will not be accepted.

Ola & Vick is a selective network. We would rather work with a smaller number of people properly than accept everyone and deliver nothing of value. Every person we accept into the network represents Ola & Vick — so we take every application seriously and we ask that you do the same.

We respond to all applications within 48 hours. If you have not heard back after 5 days, you may follow up once. We do not give reasons for unsuccessful applications but we are always respectful and direct in our responses.

Rules That Apply to All Tracks

Our Non-Negotiable Standards

Genuine Cultural Connection

You must have a real connection to African cultural fashion — not just a passing interest. We work with people who are committed to the culture, not those who see it as a trend.

Professional Conduct

All members of the Ola & Vick network are expected to conduct themselves professionally at all times — in their work, their communication, and their representation of the network.

Honest Representation

You must represent your work and experience honestly. Do not send samples that are not yours. Do not claim experience you do not have. We verify work and we value honesty above all else.

Nigeria or African Diaspora Based

Our network is Nigerian at its heart. We accept applications from people based in Nigeria and from Nigerians and Africans living in the diaspora worldwide.

No Payment Required to Apply

Applying to join the Ola & Vick network is completely free. We will never ask you to pay to be considered. If anyone contacts you claiming to represent Ola & Vick and asks for payment to be featured, report it to us immediately.

Track 01

Fashion Designers
& Tailors

We are looking for Nigerian fashion designers and tailors who are producing genuine cultural fashion work — Ankara, Agbada, Aso-Oke, Adire, George lace, wedding fashion, children’s traditional wear, or any other African cultural garment.

You do not need to be a famous name. You do not need a large Instagram following. You need to produce work that is genuinely good, genuinely cultural, and genuinely yours.

Rules for Designers & Tailors
Rule 01 Send a minimum of 5 photos of your own completed work. Phone photos are acceptable if the work is clearly visible and the quality is good.
Rule 02 All work submitted must be your own original designs or commissions. Do not submit work that belongs to another designer or tailor.
Rule 03 You must be actively taking commissions or selling at the time of application. We do not feature designers who are not currently operating.
Rule 04 You must have a working contact method — phone number, WhatsApp, or Instagram — that clients can use to reach you directly for commissions.
Rule 05 You agree that any work featured on Ola & Vick will be credited to you by name. You grant Ola & Vick permission to publish the photos you submit for the purpose of the feature.
What Designers & Tailors Get

What We Offer You

01

Editorial Feature

A dedicated article on olavick.com telling your story, showcasing your work, and directing our readers to contact you for commissions.

02

Social Media Promotion

Your feature is promoted across our Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other social channels — putting your work in front of our full audience.

03

Network Directory Listing

A permanent listing in the Ola & Vick network directory — an ongoing reference that directs readers looking for commissions directly to you.

04

Client Referrals

When readers contact Ola & Vick looking for a designer or tailor, we refer them directly to members of our network.

Track 02

Aspiring
Models

We are looking for aspiring models at any stage of their journey — complete beginners who have never been in front of a professional camera, and those who have some experience but want wider visibility in the African cultural fashion space.

You do not need professional photos to apply. Clear, well-lit phone photos are completely acceptable for your initial application. What matters is your look, your confidence, and your genuine interest in African cultural fashion modelling.

Rules for Models
Rule 01 You must be 16 years of age or older to apply. Applicants under 18 must have the written consent of a parent or guardian before any feature is published.
Rule 02 Send a minimum of 3 clear photos — at least one full-length and one close-up (face). Photos must be of you and only you. No group photos for application purposes.
Rule 03 You must be available and responsive. Once we accept your application, we will be in contact to discuss next steps. Models who do not respond within 72 hours will be removed from the process.
Rule 04 Ola & Vick does not charge models any fees at any stage. If you are accepted, all editorial features, programme participation, and network listings are provided at no cost to you.
Rule 05 You agree that photos taken as part of Ola & Vick features may be used on olavick.com and our social media channels. You will be credited by name in every feature.
Rule 06 We do not guarantee bookings or paid work. We provide visibility, education, and network connections. Any paid opportunities that arise from your Ola & Vick feature are between you and the client directly.
What Models Get

Your Path to Visibility

01

Model Spotlight Feature

A dedicated feature on olavick.com with your photos, measurements, location, and booking contact — promoted across all our social channels.

02

Editorial Shoot Opportunities

We connect you with photographers and designers in our network for editorial shoots — giving you professional portfolio images and visibility from the collaboration.

03

Modelling Programme

Access to our Fashion & Modelling Learning Programme — covering posing, presentation, portfolio building, and navigating the Nigerian fashion industry.

04

Direct Industry Connections

Introductions to designers, photographers, and brands in our network who are actively looking for new talent for shoots, campaigns, and shows.

Track 03

Photographers
& Creatives

We are looking for fashion photographers, wedding photographers, creative directors, and stylists who have a genuine eye for African cultural fashion and the technical skill to capture it properly.

Your portfolio does not need to be large. It needs to be good. Two or three strong images that show you understand light, composition, and how to make African cultural dress look the way it deserves to look will tell us more than fifty average photos.

Rules for Photographers & Creatives
Rule 01 Send a minimum of 5 portfolio images — all must be your own work. Do not send images taken by another photographer. Include a brief description of the context for each photo if possible.
Rule 02 At least 3 of your portfolio images must feature African cultural dress — traditional outfits, Ankara, wedding fashion, or similar. We are a cultural fashion platform and your work must reflect that.
Rule 03 You must have a working camera and be available for shoots in Nigeria — or clearly state if you are diaspora-based and available for remote collaboration on certain projects.
Rule 04 For any collaborative shoot with Ola & Vick, usage rights for images taken must be agreed in writing before the shoot. Ola & Vick does not assume unlimited rights to images without prior agreement.
Rule 05 You will be credited by name in every feature where your work appears. We do not publish uncredited photography.
What Photographers Get

Build Something Together

01

Photographer Spotlight

A dedicated editorial feature on your work and your approach — with your portfolio, your style, and your booking contact published on olavick.com.

02

Editorial Collaborations

Work with us on editorial shoots for olavick.com — your photography credited and promoted across our platform and social channels.

03

Direct Client Referrals

We regularly receive enquiries from readers, designers, and brides looking for photographers. Network members get direct referrals from us.

04

Paid Commercial Opportunities

When we produce sponsored content and brand features, we bring in photographers from our network — giving you paid commercial photography work.

Nigerian fashion has the talent. What it needs is a platform that takes it seriously — and people who are willing to show up, do the work, and represent the culture with pride.
